DIHLA-DAKOSY Interessengemeinschaft Hamburger Linienagenten GmbH was founded in 1985 by 25 Hamburg liner agents on the initiative of the Verband Hamburger und Bremer Schiffsmakler e.V. (Hamburg and Bremen Shipbrokers' Association).
The object of the company is to promote the development and introduction of the operation of a data communication system for the Port of Hamburg, to represent the common interests of Hamburg liner agents in its realization and to raise the necessary funds.
DIHLA GmbH is to ensure that the introduction of DAKOSY, Datenkommunikationssystem AG, promotes the competitiveness of Hamburg's liner agents and that only those liner agents who have concluded a participation agreement with DIHLA are connected to DAKOSY. DIHLA is to discuss fundamental transport policy issues with carriers and all handling companies, authorities and institutions involved in container transport, as well as examine related rationalization issues (EDP).
In order to achieve these objectives, DIHLA may acquire interests in other companies.
